BUILDINGS BEING LEFT TO ROT IN DOWNTOWN RVK!

Some buildings downtown are just being left to rot with windows in flat roofs being left open to allow rain and snow to enter the building... is this to degrade the building further so they get some sort of tax break? Particularly a problem are the buildings on Hverfísgata. What impression does this give tourists and why are we not making public use of these buildings.... there should be minimum requirements made of the building owners. Buildings should not be empty longer than 3-6 months.

It was once proposed to have daily fines. This would be a great idea then the owners of these buildings would have to fix or sell them.
